To Kill an American.....

To Kill an American 

You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is so they would know when they found one.


'An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish , Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.


An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.


An American is Christian , or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.



An American is also free to believe in no religion.. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.


An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.


An American is generous.. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.



When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!


As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan ...
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America. 



Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11 , 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.



So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo , and Stalin , and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world.. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

...Just to Get a Vote!!!

The President of the United States wants another 4 year term in office. Because he spent the 3.5 years (soon to be 4) totally destroying this country, spending it into oblivion, killing millions of jobs, screwing up the best health care system in the world (who gave him a license to practice medicine?) and a host of other decisions that lend to his incompetence as the country's chief executive, he finds his re-election campaign in trouble.
So.... in order to get votes he spits on the Constitution, illegally by-passes Congress and declares that millions of illegal aliens are now legal...translation: Vote For Me!!!
Let me get this straight. If you cross the North Korean border illegally you get 12 years hard labor. If you cross the the Afghanistan border illegally you get shot. If you cross the the Iranian border you get eight years or more, as two Americans recently found out. But...if you cross the U.S border illegally you get a job, a driver's license, food stamps, a place to live, health care, housing and child benefits, education and a 7 year break on business taxes.....and (the biggie) you get to vote for Mr. Obama in the upcoming election.
For shame, Mr. President...you can't run on your economic policy (you'd lose). You can't run on your jobs policy (you'd lose). You can't run on your stimulus plans...they failed (you'd lose). You can't run on your overall job performance rating (you'd lose). Seems the only way you can win is to defy the Constitution, Congress and the American people.....nope...you lose!

Memorial Day Shame

It's always fitting that each Memorial Day the sitting President of the United States pay homage to the nation's veterans, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The annual media photo-op for any President is to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. It is also a day many Americans visit war memorials to pay their respects to our vets.
As a Vietnam Veteran I thought it was above and beyond the day's call of duty for President Obama to visit the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, dubbed "the Wall." And while the President's speech was moving and stirring and long over-due for a group of vets who were wrongly not properly welcomed home, his visit produced another wrong. The thousands of visitors to The Wall were apparently kept away for several hours.

Some have suggested the President's speech at the wall was a campaign speech. All of his speeches these days are...The administration is not known for it's good thinking..doing as they please. In this case, maybe they should have thought about the many Americans who visit the memorials on this day, kept the President away, and let him give his speech from the Rose Garden at the White House.

Killing is ok....??

We hear of late that President Barack Obama has a high "kill" rate, blowing up terrorists in Pakistan via the unmanned drone. Kudos to the President for taking out many of the world's best bad guys...the fewer the better.
But..........is it better to kill or capture these guys? After all, they have a wealth of terror-type info that our intel people could use in fighting the war on terror. Are we killing off valuable information that if not gleaned from our enemies could come back to bite us?
And one other thought here.....do I not recall one of the very first acts upon taking office President Obama outlawed such intelligence gathering methods as "waterboarding?" We take from this, and the drone activities, that in the current administration's mind, killing is ok, waterboarding is not.
