The Middle East....My Take.

Bob Harrison
White House press secretary Jay Carney said Friday the violent protests throughout the Middle East are not directed at the United States or U.S. policy but are a response to a YouTube video.
Uh...no. It's because there are religious fanatics in that part of the world who despise the United States and all we stand for, period. Nothing more, nothing less, and someone needs to explain this to the White House and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Until they understand what the rest of us understand about these people the sooner our  government can react to this, and future, provocations responsibly and forcefully.
From the beginning of this uprising, now taking place in 21 countries, Mr. Obama's administration was apologizing for the fact that someone made a movie that hurt the feelings of these religious zealots. As ridiculous and stupid as the movie may be, the president needs to be reminded that we operate in this country under the a Constitution in which the First Amendment calls for the freedom of speech. Therefore, no apology needed, Mr. President. As a matter of fact, the president has, from day one of his presidency, been running around the world apologizing for all sorts of what he deems misdeeds for hundreds of years by the United States. Again, someone needs to tell Mr. Obama we don't apologize. To do so perceives us to be a weak nation, and therefore, what has happened in the past few days, happens.
