The Debt Ceiling Fight - Gonna Get Nasty!

Sen. Harry Reid
The Senate of the United States, led by the unflappable Harry Reid, has failed for more than 1350 days (3+ yrs) to do its constitutional duty - pass a budget. Reid, despite the law, refuses to put a budget on the floor for a vote. Why? Speculation is that he doesn't want taxpayers to see the out of control, catastrophic spending numbers that will  take this country into bankruptcy. One must concede that Senator Reid takes his marching orders from the White House and it's no secret that President Obama is addicted to spending - witness the previous four years of $6 trillion in spending pushing the national debt over the $16 trillion mark. The National Debt Clock.

Sen. Jeff Sessions
As an anti-colonialist it is the president's intent to spend this country into debt. It is part of his ideological makeup that the United States be on par with other countries, no longer a superpower, economically or militarily.

Rep. John Boehner

To feed his spending habit, the president is asking that the debt ceiling beraised. An increase in the debt ceiling requires the approval of both houses of Congress. A fight said to be larger than the recent "fiscal cliff" brawl in Washington is set to begin between the White House and Congress shortly. President Obama says he will not negotiate with Congress over the limit. House Speaker John Boehner differs, saying that part of raising the limit the White House Must agree to serious spending cuts. On the Senate side, Jeff Sessions, ranking republican senator on the budget committee  wants a budget passed. Read More: Sessions To Senate, "Pass a Budget"
